When using radegast edit to amend the config files, one of the options is to enable "multiple connections". Could someone please explain what this does?

Thanks

If your dreambox is sharing the card, then multiple connections needs to be ticked. This tells the emu daemon to start up netpilot (Radegasts connection manager)

Thanks,

During Csharing, is only the server required to have this enabled, or should both server and clients have it enabled? I've noticed it works with clients regardless.

Also, is this option responsible for performing the updates to the card?

only the server needs multiple connections to be active, clients dont. The card updates come from the server as radegast doesnt do remote updating of the card yet (stay tuned.... very soon tho) The server needs to be on a channel that has constant EMM messages pouring in ;-)

Michelangelo, my hero

Do you know if cardserv can do the same thing ? I mean a remote newcamd box (in lan) update with EMM the card that Cardserv shares (a Ird2 N*v* in this case).

I've got a lan with 6 dreamboxes and a dedicated box for server and the problem is that after 5 or 6 hours i've got black screen. The strange thing is that I have to put the ird2 card to my old good humax to autoupdate and then back to dreambox to feed the lan.

P.S. I'm running newcamd 5.09 and I have put the au switch in every user in cardserv.cfg file in server.

I use rdgd as it updates my card perfectly. I cant speak about other cams since I dont use them often ;-)

Oh god that's a rapid answer.

I'm going to install rdgd 3b9t1 right away.

And you are still my hero.

One more question my dear michelangelo

I have five boxes all with hydra atlantis final installed.

The first one I use it as a server with a ird2 N*** card on upper slot with the following configuration :

[camd]
pmt = file
dvb api = 2
descr mode = v3api
demux index = 1
ecm flood lock = 5
ecm flood release = 200

[rdgd]
ecm op mode = both
emm op mode = local
ecm preffer = card
sw cache = 3
ca cache = 3
net port = 666
local cmd pipe = /var/tmp/rdgd.cmd
softcam file = /var/keys/SoftCam.Key
conax file = /var/keys/Conax.Key
autoroll file = /var/keys/AutoRoll.Key
mkeys file = /var/keys/MK.Key
atr timeout = 2000
sc card detect = 1
readers = 1
reader 1 type = sc
reader 1 name = /dev/sci1
reader 1 blocker = off
reader 3 blocker = off
net routes = 0
net timeout = 10000

[netpilot]
shared port = 678
netpilot daemon = /var/bin/netpilot
rdgd daemon = /var/bin/rdgd
enigma address = 192.168.0.157
enigma port = 80
show popups = on
authentication = on
stat time = 1

and the rest four boxes as clients with no cards and following configuration

[camd]
pmt = file
ecm caid remove = 1801:0000
dvb api = 2
descr mode = v3api
demux index = 1
ecm flood lock = 5
ecm flood release = 200

[rdgd]
ecm op mode = both
emm op mode = local
ecm preffer = card
sw cache = 3
ca cache = 3
net port = 666
local cmd pipe = /var/tmp/rdgd.cmd
softcam file = /var/keys/SoftCam.Key
conax file = /var/keys/Conax.Key
autoroll file = /var/keys/AutoRoll.Key
mkeys file = /var/keys/MK.Key
atr timeout = 2000
sc card detect = 1
readers = 0
reader 1 type = sc
reader 1 name = /dev/sci1
reader 1 blocker = off
reader 2 blocker = off
reader 3 blocker = off
net routes = 1
net route 1 = 06:0:192.168.0.140:678:0:boxuser:boxpass:1122334455667788
net timeout = 10000

[netpilot]
shared port = 678
netpilot daemon = /var/bin/netpilot
rdgd daemon = /var/bin/rdgd
enigma address = 192.168.0.151
enigma port = 80
show popups = off
authentication = off
stat time = 1
My problem is that after almost 30 secs the pic in the clients freezing and come again after 2 or 3 secs.

Is there any opinion on what might cause that ?

set
flood lock = 0
flood release = 0

on the server and clients. This will send every ECM to the server even if its wrong (the flood lock stops the clients flooding the server with bad requests)

ok, would you guys with five or six boxes tell us what you do with these. Run a video bar, or simply watch a lotta tv ?
just curious ...

@Michelangelo
I did what you suggested and things gone worse. Even the server was stucking almost every minute. I restore again the old configuration and disable authentication. Everything is running as they should. Once again thanks Michelangelo.

@Stoly
I need six boxes to hold the seventh one to optimum height so i can watch the display from my sofa.

I too experienced same problem with authentication enabled,disable it everything works fine.I ended loading caliph back on with authentication on.Apart from that image is very good and stable in time it will be sorted out.
